ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Thursday said Prime Minister Imran Khan firmly believed in supremacy of the Constitution, rule of law and across-the-board accountability. In a tweet, Firdous said the entire nation knew who had been declared Sadiq & Ameen by the country’s top court and who was declared dishonest. She strongly rejected the opposition parties’ stance on the foreign funding case and condemned their, what she called, sordid plot of trying to make the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) hostage and influence its decision. She said the PTI stood firm on its ideology and stance and like others it will not tread the course of evading accountability.Meanwhile, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gull asked all the opposition parties, including the Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-N and Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), to make their accounts public. “The leaders of PPP and PML-N ran the government’s affairs and were found involved in money laundering and corruption,” she stated while talking to a private news channel. She claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership did not have any scandal of money laundering or corruption.About the foreign funding case, she said the PTI leadership after coming into power had declared all assets.Replying to a question, Zartaj Gull said the government had successfully managed to reduce current account deficit besides paying off $10 billion debt taken by the last governments.Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar Thursday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was not worried about the foreign funding case, as it had all registered donors.“The opposition parties are doing politics on foreign funding but they would fail,” he said talking to a private news channel.Dar expressed hope that investigation would be carried out against both the Pakistan Peoples’ Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz into their local and foreign funding.Replying to a question, he alleged that the previous governments of PPP and PML-N had left a fragile economy by taking massive foreign loans but due to prudent policies of the PTI government, the national economy had improved.
