Lawyers observe strike

PESHAWAR: Lawyers boycotted courts on Monday to protest the desecration of the Holy Quran in Norway. Different lawyers’ bodies had called for the strike. The lawyers expressed anger at the act by a man in Norway who attempted to burn a copy of the Holy Quran. The lawyers termed Umar Ilyas as a hero of the Muslim world who had attacked the man who was desecrating the Holy Quran to stop him from the act. The lawyers also observed strike in other districts of the province to protest the incident.
