LAHORE:A meeting was held to review the programmes, plays, upcoming events and performance of Alhamra Art Centre and Alhamra Cultural Complex at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, on Wednesday.The meeting was chaired by Lahore Arts Council (LAC) Board of Governors Chairperson Moneeza Hashmi long with LAC Executive Director Ather Ali Khan. Moneeza Hashmi said that the family theatre had been renovated and equipped with modern requirements which were the need of the hour. She said a comprehensive strategy had been adopted for positively highlighting social issues in society and entertainment of the public.She stated that after the success of the regular series of Alhamra, including "Alhamra on Wheel", "Kuch Yaadain Kuch Batain," Alhamra is going to launch a new series titled “Heroes of Tomorrow” for the public from January at the beginning of the new year.Special plays should be offered with the help of other cultural organisations for the promotion of serious and family theatre in Alhamra, she added.LAC Executive Director Athar Ali Khan said that Alhamra Art Museum was going to publish a catalog containing rare and valuable paintings kept at the Alhamra Art Museum. He said Alhamra’s platform ensured quality entertainment facilities to the public and effective monitoring of commercial dramas was also going on.He congratulated his staff, saying that the success of the Alhamra’s programmes was the result of the teamwork of the officers and employees of LAC.Several suggestions are also being finalised for further improvement of Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts and other related fields. Officials from all departments of Alhamra attended the meeting.
