Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has alleged the PTI government is defending military dictatorship in the country by “manoeuvering” to stop or defer the treason case judgment against Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf.Talking to The News, Sirajul Haq said Prime Minister Imran Khan used to dub Musharraf as liable to be punished by death under high treason in the past but now his government machinery was protecting the former military dictator who made fun of the constitution, enslaved judiciary and destroyed the country’s harmony during 10 year of his rule.“The government defended a national criminal through its act, which exposed the real face of prime minister and his team of ministers,” he said, adding the incumbent rulers broke all records made by previous regimes of destroying the constitutions and institutions.Senator Sirajul Haq alleged the prime minister and his team had proved themselves incompetent and irresponsible beyond any doubt. Sirajul Haq said PTI failed to fix economy and handed over the country to the IMF. He said unemployment was rising, inflation was unchecked, street crimes were unstoppable and corruption became a norm under the ruler of those who had claimed to bring about real change in the country. He said the people were running out of patience and they would take to streets at mass level to overthrow the government if its policies remained unchanged. He also asked the international community to stop the human rights violations in Indian-Held Kashmir. Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith President Prof Senator Sajid Mir said those trying to save the former military dictator who trampled the country’s constitution and subjected the national institutions to his personal slavery were equally guilty of high treason. He said as a law-abiding democratic nation, it was the duty of every citizen to stand by the constitution. He expressed sorrow that the frequency of U-turns by Prime Minister Imran Khan had broken all records. JUP President Pir Ijaz Hashmi said Imran Khan had exposed his real face time and again by taking U-turns.Talking to The News, he recalled that when Imran was in opposition he had strongly supported death punishment for Pervez Musharraf under high treason.
