Debris dumping: Marble factories issued notices

LANDIKOTAL: The Khyber administration on Monday issued notices to 250 marble factories in Mullagori area of the Jamrud tehsil of the Khyber district to properly destroy the debris or else strict action would be taken against the violators.Deputy Commissioner Mehmood Aslam Wazir along with other officials held meetings with owners of several marble factories in Mullagori industrial area.He said the owners should dump debris of factories in the deserted locality specifically allocated for it. The official said they should not contaminate the underground drinking water. The official told the factories’ owners not to put the waste material on the banks of links road in Mullagori locality as it affected traffic flow. Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner issued notices to 250 marble factories to avoid dumping debris near roads,canals and in open fields. The owners were warned to obey the orders or else they would be dealt with under the law. He issued directives to tehsildar Mullagori to inspect the factories regularly and report to him on a daily basis.
