Court moved againstparents for deserting kids

LAHORE: A parental aunt (Phuppho) of three destitute children approached the Lahore High Court seeking direction to their parents to take their responsibility. Sawera Ramzan through her counsel pleaded that her brother had divorced his wife and both mother and father had showed inability to take custody of their three children. She pointed out that both mother and father of Saim Ali, Zulqarnain Haider and Saqib Ali had married separately after divorce, leaving them deserted.She said she was an old woman and was unable to take care of children, adding under the prevalent law it was the primary duty of the parents to look after their children. She said if the parents failed to take care of their children it was the state responsibility to provide them protection and care. After hearing preliminary arguments, Justice Anwarul Haq Punhu directed Station House Office (SHO) Qadira Pur police station, Jhang to produce father of the children before the court on November 27.
