Legal protest?

To take out rallies and stage public protests against a government is among the fundamental rights of citizens as also every political party. This statement has been judicially validated by the courts over the past years in Pakistan, every time a challenge has been raised. However, one crucial element is that the right to protest is subject and secondary to the right of free movement and life of citizens who do not wish to and / or cannot participate in such rallies and protests. As a consequence of such protests, the fundamental rights of these citizen are violated to a great extent. Access to basic commodities and food is extremely restricted. Such protests also adversely effect the economy of the country. Perhaps, our courts of law can equally emphasize and protect the rights of the sleeping majority.Raja ShafaatUllahIslamabad
