In your opinion, how are the values of today’s youth different from those of the older generation?Today youngsters are being offered quality education in schools but they aren’t being taught moral values; even the parents don’t focus on the character building of their children. In my opinion, parents nowadays should become role models for their children. Kids imitate their elders so instead of just dictating, guardians should teach through their actions; one should be careful of what they say and do when they’re around kids. I remember as a child, I was a very imaginative, passionate and monomaniacal sort of person. I always looked up to my grandpa who was a man of principles. When I was a kid, one day my father took me to his office. My father introduced me to his boss who didn’t care that I was there while he scolded my father for not completing the assignment. I was holding my father’s hand at that time and I felt his hands quivering. I got overwhelmed seeing my father in this state and promised myself neither to be a boss like him nor to be an employee like my father. What is the worst human behaviour?Impatience! People today want to take shortcuts in life. People want to get good grades, earn money, become famous, but they don’t want to work hard. Achieving success is a continuous journey. Overnight realization of dream might be possible in movies or dreams but it is not possible in real life. You have to develop an attitude to work harder. What are the habits of successful person? In 20 years of my professional life, I have noticed there are two types of people in the world: (1) Well-skilled but no values; (2) Low-skilled but more values. I believe the second group is likely to be more successful. I have observed them to be more organised and ethical. What does it take to change a habit? Will power!Who is your inspiration?Wasif Ali Wasif. He helped me discover who I am.How to stay motivated?Motivation is a state of mind that keeps you on driving seat. It keeps changing due to internal and external factors. And we have to learn to deal with them. How can one discover his/her path? If you come across any activity that interests you, and you tend to be passionate about it, it is the path you should follow. For example, anyone who wants to be a cricketer would never hesitate to practice cricket even during hot days. What book would you recommend to youngster? The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey
