The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted a strong windstorm followed by heavy rains and thunderstorm in Balochistan and while heavy rains Sindh, especially in upper Sindh from Friday night, and light to moderate rain is also expected in Karachi on Saturday.“Under the influence of a strong western disturbance, heavy rains with strong gusty winds are expected in Balochistan, especially in the catchment area of the Hub Dam as well as in upper Sindh. A windstorm at the speed of 90-120 kilometres per hour is also expected in Balochistan from Friday night to Saturday,” said Director Karachi Met Office Abdur Rasheed said.He said Karachi may have drizzle from Friday night but they were expecting some light to moderate rain from Saturday till Sunday morning. He added that a clear situation and prediction would be issued on Friday by the Met Department.Rasheed, however, predicted that they were expecting good rains in the catchment areas of the Hub Dam spread on hundreds of kilometres in Balochistan and Sindh as well in upper Sindh districts.
