CM reviews security, administrative arrangements

In view of the recent Indian warmongering, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday chaired a meeting to review the overall security and administrative arrangements in the province.A similar meeting was also held earlier in the late hours of Wednesday, in which the CM issued necessary directives to Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah and Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kaleem Imam regarding administrative and security arrangements in Sindh, including the protection of important institutions and diplomatic missions in the province.During the meeting on Thursday, the CM again reviewed the security arrangements made so far and directed the chief secretary to keep the scouts prepared.The chief secretary briefed the CM on the cancellation of leaves of the staff members of essential services, including hospitals and local government. All the divisional and district administration had been given directives as per the standard operating procedure for the situation, Mumtaz Said.Sindh Rangers Director General Mohammad Saeed also briefed the CM on the security arrangements in Sindh. Murad expressed satisfaction over the administrative and security measures taken in the province to deal with any emergency.Central Control RoomThe chief secretary also presided over another meeting regarding strategic arrangements to ensure the internal security of Sindh and asked the participants to coordinate with the Central Control Room (CCR) established in the home department.Mumtaz advised all the provincial secretaries and heads of various civic and utility institutions, including the Sui Southern Gas Company, K-Electric, Karachi Development Authority, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, fire brigade, Sindh Red Crescent Society, Sindh Boys Scouts Association, Civil Defence and Provincial Disaster Management Authority Sindh, to remain alert in view of the existing emergency situation.The chief secretary also stressed the need for making arrangements for food, medicines, medical treatment and other basic services like water, power and other utilities to facilitate people in case any eventuality occurs.All the departments must remain operational throughout 24 hours and establish close coordination with the CCR of the home department, the chief secretary said. He instructed the IGP Sindh and the commissioners and deputy commissioners to do their needful duty devotedly and zealously. The police chief assured Mumtaz that the Sindh police would perform all its duties in this regard effectively.
