A man allegedly attempted to commit suicide after shooting and injuring a woman in New Karachi on Friday.Police officials said the incident took place in Sector 11-H near UP Morr within the limits of the New Karachi police station. A 34-year-old, Kashan Lodhi, and Iqra alias Javeria were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors were trying to save their lives.The police while quoting the initial investigations said that Iqra was a friend of Lodhi’s sister, and she recently got divorced and was pregnant. Lodhi fell in love and had been forcing her to get married. When she refused, he shot and injured Iqra and tried to take his own life. The police claimed to have recovered a pistol used in the incident. No case had been registered till the filing of the report late on Friday night.
