Sonya Hussyn on her upcoming music video, ‘Kahaniyaan’

Sonya Hussyn recently appeared in Mohammad Ehteshamuddin’s ongoing period drama Aangan and did a commendable job portraying a rebellious young woman from the pre-partition era. With some strong performances to her credit, particularly in socially relevant dramas such as Aesi Hai Tanhai and Meri Guriya, the film and TV actress is all set to appear in Shany Haider’s upcoming music video, ‘Kahaniyaan’.According to a press statement, the video will feature one of a kind dance performance by Sonya Hussyn and will mark the first contemporary ballet dance in Pakistan.“‘Kahaniyaan’ is not your traditional love song,” Sonya shared in a press statement. “It has a unique pop touch to it and the lyrics very beautifully narrate the untold feelings which we never express. What makes this song unique is that it features a mix of contemporary and ballet dance forms, something that has never been done in Pakistan before. Working on multiple projects and prepping for the music video was also physically demanding but it was completely worth it.”Written and performed by Shany Haider, ‘Kahaniyaan’ will be released by Times India. It is directed by Haris Qadeer and choreographed by Gohar Hayat.In 2018, Sonya appeared in Jawwad Ahmed’s political music video, ‘Ye Tera Na Mera’. She also starred in last year’s film Azaadi opposite Moammar Rana. She recently opted out of Sohail Javed’s Sorry – A Love Story and is currently shooting for the upcoming film, Tich Button.
