Nadeem Baig and Nabeel Qureshi will not release any film in 2019

Two of the leading filmmakers in Pakistan, Nabeel Qureshi and Nadeem Baig, have given back-to-back hits to local cinema ever since they made their first film. Nabeel makes films that have a social angle at their heart (Na Maloom Afraad, Na Maloom Afraad 2, Actor In Law, Load Wedding) while Nadeem Baig’s genre is inclined towards romance and comedies (Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2). Both of them mostly release their films at the same time, during festive seasons (Eid ul Azha, Eid ul Fitr). This year, however, neither filmmaker will release any film.“I am not releasing any film this year,” Nabeel confirmed to Instep on the sidelines of a recent event.When asked why he and Nadeem aren’t releasing any film this year, he said on a lighter note, “We compete every year; this year he is not making a film so we aren’t making it either.”“The script we are working on is taking a bit of time,” Nabeel added. “Also, there are quite a few films coming out this year; at least two films on both Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Azha so it would be good for them too.”Humayun Saeed, who is presently working on his next, Love You Jatta, also informed that no film is coming out during Eid this year. Instead, he is working on multiple scripts that he will shoot back-to-back rather than spending an entire year on one film.“I will begin shooting for my film later this year and might release it by the end of 2019,” he revealed to Instep.
