Tech times

This refers to the letter ‘Thoughtful teaching’ (February 27) by Prof (r) Basharat Ali. What the professor has said is true but we have to keep in mind that his times were different. In the 1950s, it was probably okay to teach only three subjects at a primary level. But the present is the era of technology. While teaching Urdu, Math, Islamiat and Geography are mandatory, the other subjects carry their own importance. The government should work on improving teaching techniques so that students can better understand a concept.Gull KhanGhotki
