ISLAMABAD: The government plans to raise a state of the art cricket stadium and equally world class cricket academy in Islamabad.These views were expressed by Naeemul Haq, Special Advisor to Prime Minister, during a meeting with sports and cricket officials headed by Islamabad Regional Cricket Association President Shakil Shaikh at his residence.Insaf Culture and Sports Wing President Omar Khayyam, Insaf Culture and Sports Islamabad Wing chief Chaudhry Zia and North Zone Islamabad President Shabbir Ahmad were also present in the meeting.As many as 10 new cricket grounds will also be raised in the capital considering the growing requirements from local clubs."The capital will have all these facilities in near future," the PM advisor said. He again praised the efforts made by the Islamabad Region to raise top class infrastructure for the game. "Full support and cooperation will be extended to Islamabad and its president in his effort to raise the standard of game."Shakil Shaikh thanked Naeemul Haq for promising all out efforts to raise stadium, academy and cricket grounds in the city."Indeed the sports friendly decision taken by the PM advisor would go a long way in further popularizing the cricket in Islamabad," Shakil said. Shakil also briefed Naeemul Haq on the facilities available at different existing cricket grounds of the capital. "We are serving the game in best possible way. Islamabad Cricket Association is working hard on sharpening the skills of young cricketers of the city."
