OpinionDifferent shades of man It is said that humans tend to change over time. Some people don’t agree with this overly generalized statement. But the mere fact that people go from being meek to being aggressive under stress, for instance, is evident that a person’s nature does change. And then there are people who put these facades to hide their realities. What they perceive to be “right” might actually not be the best thing or way out for them. Most importantly, if they refuse to change according to their circumstance, things are only going to go downhill for them. It’s going to be difficult for them to survive in this world. I think education is important in this case. It broadens one’s mind to tackle situations differently, to assess the pros and cons, to decide logically. Fahad IshfaqQueryHey Editor,I really enjoy reading poetry. I am glad you guys are publishing Poets’ Corner regularly. I also want to see my poems in the section; I have penned down a couple of them recently. Where should I send them?Farhan Syed Hi Farhan, please email your poems to uspoetscorner@gmail.comFirst timers’ cornerSalam Ed,I am a student of Grade IX. I have been reading Us for almost a year. I find “Tips ‘n’ Tricks”, “Tight Spot” and “HOD series” quite interesting and helpful.I was wondering if I could write some education related articles for the magazine. I have query: do you assign topics to the writers? Or they free to write on topics close to their hearts.Akram Shahid, BahawalpurThank you for your feedback, Akram. Yes, you can write on any topic as long as it’s interesting and relevant to youth. Please note: if you are taking information from different sources, please give credits or mention that it’s compiled. :) ReflectionNarrated by Abu Humaid Al-SaidiThe Prophet (S.A.W) appointed a man from the tribe of Al-Azd, called Ibn Utbiyya for collecting the Zakat. When he returned he said, "This (i.e. the Zakat) is for you and this has been given to me as a present." The Prophet said, "Why hadn't he stayed in his father's or mother's house to see whether he would be given presents or not? By Him in Whose Hands my life is, whoever takes something from the resources of the Zakat (unlawfully) will be carrying it on his neck on the Day of Resurrection; if it be a camel, it will be grunting; if a cow, it will be mooing; and if a sheep, it will be bleating." The Prophet then raised his hands till we saw the whiteness of his armpits, and he said thrice, "O Allah! Haven't I conveyed Your Message (to them)?"Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 47, Number 769Editor: Lubna KhalidUs Magazine, 4th Floor, Al Rahman Building, I.I.Chundrigar Road, Karachi, Pakistan.Twitter: @UsMag_TheNewsFacebook: Us Magazine - PakistanInstagram: Us - Magazine for the youthNo items without the full name and address of the sender will be accepted.
