PESHAWAR: The 12th two days national Undergraduate Medical Research (UMR) Conference concluded at Peshawar Medical and Dental College here on Friday.The first day of the conference had a plenary session by the chief guest, Prof Dr Anis Ahmad, Vice- Chancellor of Riphah International University, Islamabad. He talked about the importance of research and how it can benefit mankind.A well-attended workshop was conducted by Prof Dr Muhammad Irfan on evidence-based stress management.The second day of the moot started off with a plenary by Prof Dr Najibul Haq, Dean of PM& DC, on “Translating Research into Action”.He educated the students on how to implement research into the real world. There was a poster, verbal and quiz competitions.The event wrapped up on a pleasant note by the Vice Chancellor of Peshawar University, Prof Dr Muhammad Asif Khan who was the chief guest on the occasion.This was followed by the presidential address by the president of UMR, Muhammad Nabeel Hayat.The concluding remarks were given by Prof Dr Najibul Haq.Hamdard University (Karachi), University of Faisalabad, Ayub Medical College (Abbottabad), Islamic International Medical College (Islamabad), Khyber Medical College, Khyber Girls Medical College, Khyber College of Dentistry, Pakistan International Medical College, Abasyn University, Kabir Medical College, Rehman College of Dentistry, Rehman Medical College and Sardar Begum Dental College attended the moot. Awards and shields were presented to the winners and the UMR team.
