PESHAWAR: A ‘Science Expo’ at the PUTA Hall of the University of Peshawar attracted people from different walks of life on Thursday.Speaking at the event, Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Science, Technology and Information Technology, Kamran Bangesh, said that the provincial government was committed to fostering science and technology by taking all possible steps in this regard.The event was organised by the Science Journalism Society of Pakistan and Peshawar University Teachers Association.Several universities, professional colleges and other institutions took part in the event by displaying science-related researches and inventions.Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal, patron of SJSP, strategic consultant Dr Fahad Khan Afridi, Advocate Ashraf Khan Gadoon, PUTA President Prof Dr Fazal Nasir, Chairman Dr Mehbob-ur-Rehman of Mehbob Medical Institute Peshawar, Prof Dr Muhammad Imran Qureshi of Peshawar Medical College were among those who attended the event.Kamran Bangesh, as a chief guest, shed light on science and technology, saying today’s era is the science and technology-era and all citizens should work hard in this field.The organisers, SJSP president Asif Khan Turk, general secretary Muhammad Shahid, and finance secretary FareedShinwari present on the occasion said that the event was meant to promote science culture.“Just like other genres of journalism, Science Journalism needs to be promoted in the country as it can offer solutions to different problems and lead to improvement in the living standards of people,” said Muhammad Shahid.
