Police solve trader’s murder case

KOHAT: The police in Shakardarra solved the blind murder case and arrested two suspects, official sources said on Friday.They said Shafiqu Rahman, a leading businessman of Shakardarra, was shot dead near his home on August 7 last year, adding that a first information report was registered against unknown miscreants.Meanwhile, the police investigated the case along the scientific lines and during a raid arrested Shahid Iqbal, the resident of Karimabad and Rafaqat Sultan, a resident Chakarkot in Shakardarra.The police also recovered a bike that was used in the crime.The accused confessed to have committed the murder, saying they killed the trader over an old enmity.Meanwhile, the personnel of law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) in a crackdown arrested 50 suspects in Jangalkhel and surrounding Afghan camps and recovered weapons from them. On the directives of DPO Kohat, the crackdown was launched against criminals due to the security situation.
