A final-year medical student, Nimrah Baig, was shot dead on Friday night(February 22) as she got caught in an exchange of fire between the police and suspected robbers in North Karachi. The question is: Who will give justice to the family of the girl? Government representatives’ ‘prayers and sympathies’ cannot compensate the loss her family has to live with.This incident isn’t an isolated one. Last year, a girl was injured, and later died, by the police’s stray bullets. The authorities concerned have to take stern action against those who were responsible for Nimrah’s death to provide some relief to the family.Shazim ShujrahShikarpur
