Probe ordered against SHO

MANSEHRA: DSP Mukhtar Khan has ordered an inquiry against a station house officer and transferred six traffic wardens after traders staged a protest at the alleged torture and illegal confinement of a tehsil councillor in Oghi on Monday.Tehsil Councillor Habib Bassikhel along with vice-president of Awan-i-Tejarat Ghani Gul had gone to the Oghi Police Station to meet traders who had been taken to the police station by SHO. SHO Gulraiz and six traffic wardens allegedly stopped them not to meet the traders but they pleaded to allow them. On this, the cops allegedly started beating the councillor and later put him behind bars.Following the incident, the traders staged a protest outside police station and sought action against SHO and traffic wardens. DSP Mukhtar rushed to the scene to defuse the tension and ordered immediate transfer of traffic wardens. He also ordered an inquiry against the SHO, who according to traders, was known for creating such a mess.
