FAISALABAD: Police have decided to set up scrutiny desks in Faisalabad division to ensure free, fair and impartial investigations.A spokesman for the Police Department told on Tuesday that due to technical flaws in legal process of registration of cases at police stations and their investigations, submission of challans in the competent courts of law was delayed whereas people were facing difficulties due to registration of fabricated cases. He said that during open courts, RPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar received a number of complaints against investigation officers that they were not conducting investigations according to legal requirements whereas the culprits were taking good advantage of legal flaws in the investigation process. He said that ASIs would be the incharge of the scrutiny desk whereas two police officials would assist to look after its entire affairs. These desks would be established in Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot to monitor the investigation process of dacoity, robbery, theft, murder, fraud, swindling, extortion, rape, abduction and other cases, he added.
