Like edible items, medicines also have a specific shelf life. People running pharmacies ought to be vigilant and keep a constant check on drug expiration date. But in our country, medical store owners don’t take such precautions and often end up selling expired pills/syrups to patients. This practice is immensely harmful for patients whose immune system is already weak. Those who can’t read or write purchase medicines without checking the product’s expiry date. This negligence on the part of shop owners poses a serious threat to public health. Healthcare personnel must look into the matter and take steps to resolve the problem at the earliest.Zamir Ahmed MemonShikarpur
