Judicial probe sought into murder of Afzal Kohistani

PESHAWAR: The brother of Afzal Kohistani, the man who exposed the Kohistan honour killing scandal and was killed last month, has demanded the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the murder of his brother.Speaking at a news conference here on Wednesday, Bin Yasir said that Afzal Kohistani was killed for striving to change outdated system and customs in Kohistan.He demanded that the case should be taken to its logical conclusion as four of his brothers had already been killed.The man said his family was facing threats and he had gone to Islamabad thrice in the past 10 years due to fear.“I know the Kohistan video scandal case is very sensitive and that one day I will also be killed,” Bin Yasir said, adding that he would continue to seek justice.He said his family did not have trust in the local police, therefore, a judicial commission should be constituted to probe the murder of his brother.Bin Yasir alleged that the police were trying to implicate his nephew in the murder of Afzal Kohistani in an attempt to spoil the case.
