IPL 2019: Ravichandran Ashwin has no regrets over 'mankading’ controversy

Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has said he has no regrets over Jos Buttler ‘mankading’ controversy.Earlier, the Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin gave rise to the controversy by ‘mankading’ Rajasthan Royals (RR) wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler during the fourth match of IPL 2019 on Monday. Ashwin was under fire for his action by cricket fraternity for not being fair.The player during his first interview after the controversy Ashas stated that he has no regrets over this controversial ‘mankad’ and dismissal of Jos Buttler. The Kings XI Punjab skipper stated that his conscience was clear.Ashwin further said: “People can say that they believe it is right or wrong, that is their opinion, but you can’t say that Ashwin is a villain. That is not in my character.”He added: “There is nothing to defend. It was instinctive. I didn’t plan to wait for Buttler to go out and I will hit (the bails).On the other hand, Stewart, Marylebone Cricket Club's  manager told media after the incident that it seems 'Ashwin intentionally waited for Buttler to move from crease and took the bails which is not in the spirit of game, and if that’s true than its totally unfair. '
