First teaser of Baaji will blow you away

Saqib Malik’s debut feature film Baaji is all set to hit cinemas across Pakistan on June 28, this year, and is certainly one of the most anticipated films of 2019. Among other reasons why we are eagerly waiting for the film’s releaseis its star cast that includes Meera Ji, Osman Khalid Butt, Ali Kazmi, Amna Ilyas, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Nayyer Ejaz.The first teaser of the film recently came out and without a doubt, it packs quite a punch. It has drama, romance, action and emotions with themes of stardom, insecurity and competency at its heart. The trailer opens with a fight between the characters of Ali Kazmi and Osman Khalid Butt,followed by one between two women, essayed by Meera Ji and Amna Ilyas.Meera Ji essays the role of a ‘superstar whose time is running out,’ while Amna Ilyas will be seen as ‘a girl who dares to dream big’.What happens when the two witness a face-off, the film explores that, among other things.Osman Khalid Butt features as a ‘director with a grand vision’ and is looking for a ‘classic’ face. Whether he finds one or not, we’ll find out later but the journey looks epic. Every character has a story and there is a reason to it. The actors fit their characters really well and bring their A game to the table, particularly Meera Ji, whose inner superstar shines through the teaser, and Osman Khalid Butt, who looks phenomenal in this intense role.The teaser is one of the best we have seen in Pakistani cinema so far and looks like the film is going to tick all the (right) boxes.
