Sufi icon Abida Parveen, who has had huge contribution to the genre over the years, recently collaborated with Sweden-based Electronic Dance Music (EDM) DJ Shahrukh Sheikh for a series of remakes and originals coming out later this year. While we are eagerly waiting for the tracks with DJ Shahrukh, the legendary singer is all set to perform live in Lahore as part of the upcoming Sufi Night 2019.Organized by Seed Out, Pakistan’s first interest-free crowd funding platform helmed by Zain Ashraf Mughal, Sufi Night 2018 is scheduled to take place on March 22 at the Governor House in Lahore. The honorable Governor of Punjab, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar will be the chief guest at the event while it will also feature a talk by Orya Maqbool Jan and a Sufi dance performance by whirling Dervaishis on some soul touching sufi songs. This annual fundraiser will be open to citizens of Lahore with passes available in four categories that can be purchased online through Bookme.pk, eticketing.pk and physically from Hardees (MM Alam Road and Hardees Z Block, DHA) and Aylanto (Z Block, DHA). Revenue generated from the event will help Seed Out set up small businesses for thousands of underprivileged Pakistanis. “Seed Out has always been committed to fight against poverty,” Founder and President Zain Ashraf Mughal shared in a press statement. “However, we cannot do it alone. This year we would like to bring all Pakistanis to come together and play their part to lift thousands of families out of poverty.”
