Earlier this year, veteran actor Firdous Jamal received severe criticism after he commented on Mahira Khan’s age on a morning show. Once again Firdous Jamal has come under fire for his inappropriate remarks on the actors of today. During a talk show, when the actor was asked who he thinks is a good performer and has a bright future in the industry, he replied, “There isn’t one,” adding that these new actors are in fact “models and showpieces”.When the host remarked on how Pakistan does have some real talent, citing the example of Imran Ashraf and his character Bhola from Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, Firdous Jamal responded, “Imran’s performance wasn’t a spontaneous one. In fact, it was pretension. He was acting and not behaving. Such roles have been performed in the past as well but unfortunately you haven’t seen those precious acts. I don’t want to criticize any individual here, but sadly acting is turning into a fashion these days.”In response to the veteran actor’s statement, Imran Ashraf took to social media and wrote that Firdous Jamal is indeed a great actor and that he (Imran) respects him and his opinion. The Ranjha Ranjha Kardi star added that if Firdous sahib had portrayed Bhola’s character, he would have performed thousand times better than him. He continued that he did not mind the remarks at all and in fact he will make further efforts to improve his craft. In the end he requested all his fans and friends not to pass harsh comments.
