Shamoon Ismail to feature in Super Salt 2019

In just three days (October 29), the first edition of Salt Flights 001 is supposed to take place in Karachi with Stracho Temelkovski and his quartet (Ft. Ashraf Sharif Khan on Sitar) are heading for Karachi to play their blend of Balkan Jazz with Karachi-based Tollcrane also playing on the same night.If that wasn’t enough, Salt Arts has announced Salt Soiree 34 – Wild Card, which is set to feature Hussain Dossa, Aziz Kazi and Ashraf Sharif Khan.Scheduled to take place from 9:00 pm to midnight on October 31, its Salt Arts going out and creating moments of celebration and dance on Halloween.Meanwhile, after announcing Save The Date (December 14, 2019), Salt Arts has announced that Islamabad-based Shamoon Ismail, who dropped two EPs - Brown Sugar and Magic – this year and managed to pick up a nomination for ‘Marijuana’ at the recently concluded Lux Style Awards. Shamoon Ismail is known for pioneering a genre called Punjabi Blues and also played a fantastic set at Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party in Islamabad the last time it happened.Speaking to Instep recently, Shamoon had noted about his last release, Brown Sugar EP, “This is different from Cookie and Magic in ways that it was perhaps more about the music. Brown Sugar is lyrically different; this album tells a different story than previous releases. It’s about the other side of things, I would say than Magic and Cookie. Cookie was also different than Magic.”He is a thrilling performer; watch out Karachi.
