The 5th Lahore Music Meet to commence in Feb 2020

One of Pakistan’s top music festivals, the Lahore Music Meet (LMM), co-founded by Natasha Noorani and Zahra Paracha, is all set to take place in February next year. The fifth edition of LMM will be held on February 1 and 2, 2020, at Alhamra Art Center in Lahore and will be open to public.During the two-day festival, contemporary and traditional artists, industry executives and academics will come together for performances, conversations with Pakistan’s finest musicians and master-classes for aspiring musicians.According to a press statement, LMM has endeavoured to lay down a fertile setting for the nurturing of Pakistan’s emerging, contemporary and traditional music landscape since 2015.“LMM is celebrating its fifth year as a well-established and unique platform for day-long musical performances and meaningful conversations and activities pertaining to music enterprise, education and academia,” read the statement. “Our ultimate goals remain to create a meaningful engagement between audiences and musicians, encouraging new talents and fostering relationships between individuals within the music fraternity.”Legends such as Attaullah Esakhelvi, Fareed Ayaz and Abu Mohammad, Ustaad Naseerudin Saami along with regional artists like Mai Dhai, Akhtar Channal and Saeen Zahoor have all been a part of the festival.Moreover, pop/rock artists Ali Noor, Ali Hamza, Jimmy Khan, Ali Sethi, Omran Shafique, Ali Azmat, Gumby and Abid Brohi, independent musicians Poor Rich Boy, Ali Suhail, Takatak and esteemed members of the industry like Arshad Mahmud, Tina Sani, Sajjad Ali and Javed Bashir among many others have also been associated with LMM in the past.With Sana Nasir as the lead designer and Munizaeh Sanai as creative director, the upcoming women-led, two-day festival aims to enrich the ever growing Pakistani music ecosystem within Pakistan and abroad.
