you & meUsman Butt always wanted to be in showbiz, and that fascination led him to approach a friend for his portfolio. He shared it with different modelling agencies and soon landed his first modelling gig with a clothing brand called Focus. After this, he went on to model for notable brands like Ali Xeeshan, Charcoal, ChenOne, Hipster, Nauman Afreen, Nishat Linen, Ricci Melion, Royal Tag, Shoe Planet and Yellow among others. Apart from modelling, Usman wanted to pursue a career in acting as well. This aspiration of his brought him to the acting workshop of veteran actor Sania Saeed, where he honed his talent and familiarised himself with the craft of performing arts.It was during this workshop, when renowned writer Fasih Bari Khan noticed his skills. “Fasih Bari Khan asked me to appear for an audition before the director Khalid Ahmed for his serial ‘Dilara’ and to my utter surprise, I was selected to play the male lead,” he tells. The model-turned-actor credits his mentors for his growing success, “There are a number of people who I consider my mentors like Fasih Bari Khan and Bee Gul amongst others who made me believe that I have the potential to act. Director Khalid Ahmed and actor Abid Ali rendered me invaluable guidance and tremendous support that a newcomer needs when he lands in showbiz.” Currently, Usman is shooting for drama serial titled ‘Hoor Pari’ and reviewing the scripts of three other projects.
