Rawalpindi: Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W), Rawalpindi organised its Annual Sports Gala here on Monday under the patronage of Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Saira Mufti.The competition featured numerous games and over a hundred students participated in them. The grounds were decorated with colourful banners, flags and welcoming notes. The event was inaugurated by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Saira Mufti. Balloons were released in the air and traditional enthusiasm of the students was observed.National anthem was played. The gala witnessed an array of athletic activities including commando training, march past, band performance and walk, cultural walk and cultural show. The games in the gala included races of different types, tug of war, karate and ‘chaati’ race among others. Students performed on Abrar-ul-Haq’s arifana kalam ‘Tere rang rang’. The resilience and spirit of the students was a spectacle to behold. The ‘chaati’ race by teachers, cultural dress show by students and cultural ramp walk by teachers were the main attraction of the mega event.In the ‘chaati’ race, Asma Saleem of History Department secured the first position; whereas, Maria Jamil of Statistics Department and Farzana Tehsin of Sociology Department secured second and third position respectively.
