Milli Yakjehti Council says religious parties united for country’s security

PESHAWAR: Assuring the Pakistani armed forces of all support against any aggression, the leaders of the Milli Yakjehti Council on Monday termed the Pulwama incident as a drama staged by India to intensify provocation on the borders.Addressing a joint news conference after the central executive committee meeting of the body, central president of the council Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair and secretary general Liaqat Baloch said that all the religious parties in the country were united for the safety and security of the country. They said the armed forces and government should remain ready for any possible aggression by the enemy. They welcomed the decision of convening the meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), but emphasised that the Kashmiri leaders should also be invited to the meeting. They flayed the government for its secular practices, saying that Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced to revive the Madina state, but their actions show that they were trying to make the country a secular state. They believed that efforts were also being made to recognise Israel, but announced that they would strongly resist such a bid. They alleged that former president Pervez Musharraf was damaging the Kashmir cause and he had become active to get Israel recognised.Other leaders of the council including Saqib Akbar, Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Noorul Hasnain Gilani, Abdul Wasi and others were also present on the occasion.
