Lahooti Melo 4 to be bigger, better; confirms Saif Samejo

Pakistan is becoming home to a number of music and arts festival but Lahooti Melo in particular has risen to the top based on the artists it hosts, and its continuous effort to give as many people as possible a chance to be included. The fourth edition is set to take place on February 9 and February 10, which means later this week(end).Apart from music performances and panel discussions, this year’s venue is changing from Hyderabad Club to University of Jamshoro. When asked why, Saif Samejo told Instep that it’s a better venue that can accommodate more than 25000 people and is a beautiful place where people can walk around without feeling claustrophobic.Unlike last year, where Lahooti Melo had multiple stage(s), this year they plan to have one main stage where all the artists, from folk to experimental to popular will play their music. “We’ve merged it,” noted Saif. As for how the panels were curated, noted Saif Samejo: “Since the theme is ‘ode to a liberated woman’, all panels have been designed with various women, from successful to those who have #MeToo stories, everyone is welcome.Performers include FDVM, Kashmir, Chand Tara Orchestra, Mai Dhai, Mughal-e-Funk, Rachel Viccaji, Dhool and many more. This is one festival no one should miss.
