I took CSS exams this month. It was quite a tough ordeal. For compulsory subjects, there is a policy of a single paper per day. But for optional subjects, there are two papers per day; one between 9am and 12pm and the other between 2pm and 5pm. This hectic schedule has a negative effect on candidates’ performance. After writing for straight eight hours, my fingers would get numb at the end of the day. There was no chance for rest as I had to go through the same ordeal the next day.The FPSC should observe how developed countries conduct their civil service exams. It is an important exam and if the FPSC can relax the two-papers-per-day rule, thousands of aspirants will have a sigh of relief.Syed BadshahBuner
