Drug peddlers get jail terms

SIALKOT: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Zahid Ghaznavi Friday awarded jail terms to two drug peddlers.The Judge awarded six years rigorous imprisonment to accused Afzal and fined him Rs 15,000. The court awarded nine and a half month rigorous imprisonment to accused Shakeel and fined him Rs 5,000.Civil Lines and the Muradpur police respectively had arrested accused Afzal and Shakeel and recovered drugs from their custody.TWO DRUG PEDDLERS HELD: Two drug peddlers were arrested when heroine and hashish were recovered from their possession.Sambrial police arrested accused Ejaz from village Malkhanwala with 1.02 kg heroine and accused Kazim Ali from Mor Sambrial with 1.64 kg hashish and registered cases against them.4 HELD FOR POWER THEFT: Police Friday arrested four persons, including a woman, from different localities on charges of stealing electricity.On the report of Gepco officials, the Nekapura police arrested accused Shehbaz Ali from Nekapura and Naveeda Begum from Mohallah Islamabad, the Muradpur police arrested Shaukat Ali from village Malkay Kalan and the Kotwali police arrested Sajid Hussain from Kutchery Road.
