Demarcation of coalmine protested

KOHAT: The tribesmen belonging to Qasimkhel tribe on Sunday blocked the Indus Highway for hours to protest the demarcation of coalmine by the district administration.Terming the demarcation against the court verdict and one sided, the protesters gathered at Abbas Chowk and blocked the road.Speaking on the occasion, head of the tribe, Prof Bilal Afridi, Sabir Afridi and others said the rivals were trying to occupy the coal mines belonging to the Qasimkhel tribe. They accused the district administration of supporting the rival party against the decisions of the high court and jirga. They said the administration was not implementing the court order to conduct underground survey. They added about 800 houses would be affected if the court verdict was not implemented. They vowed to continue protest till acceptance of their demands.
