ANP against war, says Asfandyar

PESHAWAR: Condemning the airspace violation by India, Awami National Party (ANP) President Asfandyar Wali Khan on Tuesday said that his party was against the war but would support its country if it was imposed on Pakistan.Through a statement issued here, the ANP chief said that both the countries would ultimately resolve their differences through peaceful means.“War brings nothing but destruction and chaos,” he added. The ANP chief said the surgical strikes and provocation narrative was detrimental to the regional peace, saying that both the countries would ultimately settle their disputes through talks. He suggested that instead of utilising peaceful means after the war it was better to use peaceful means and avoid war.Asfandyar Wali Khan said that violent means had always exacerbated the situation instead of providing any solution. The ANP had always opposed violence and would continue to support non-violent means for resolving issues, Asfandyar Wali said. However, he added that in case of war his party would support his country.
