Strings lend support to SOP

Taking a social cause, any social cause, and doing justice to it – well, that’s like shooting for the moon. Altruism isn’t easy. But some efforts do stay in our heads. And Strings have done it before with tunes like ‘Main Tou Dekhonga’ and the anti-war song ‘Beirut’ or the anthemic ‘Hai Koi Hum Jaisa’.Their latest, in a similar vein, is also tied to a cause. A song called ‘Tum Aasmaan Ho’ – penned by Anwar Maqsood – and produced by Strings has just been released. The beautiful, signature Strings song has been made in support of the Special Olympics Pakistan. Coming together with SOP, the music group has released a single, accompanied by a music video, to celebrate “the precious athletes from the Pakistani team who have recently returned from the Special Olympics World Games,” noted a press statement. The press statement stated further: “The children from SOP have been ecstatic about being presented with Strings in their music video. These children participated in the Special Olympics World Games, held in March 2019, where they competed with 195 countries, against almost 7,500 athletes and have successfully brought back 65 medals to Pakistan.”On the occasion, Strings noted, “It has been a pleasure working with SOP. These beautiful children are so inspiring and deserve so much more in life. It is an honour for us to be a part of this cause.”As for the song, it is worthy of these incredible athletes. Sung by Faisal Kapadia with Bilal Maqsood appearing on chorus, as well as the children themselves, it is quite inspiring and showcases the belief we all must have in these incredibly courageous human beings. The song on its own brings hope at a time of great grief. In the meantime, Strings has released seven tracks off their album 30 with one more slated to release soon.
