Sonali Bendre features on a magazine cover, shares pic with emotional note

MUMBAI: Sonali Bendre,  who has recently appeared on the cover of a magazine, spoke about her long battle with cancer, saying  the it had spread all over her  abdomen but the actor never thought she would die.Sonali has  emerged as a strong woman and  appeared to  live  with style  even after  a formidable period of  nearly six months in the US where she was being treated for a chronicle decease.The actor, wearing a pale powder blue dress with her short crop of hair,  shared a picture of herself on the cover of a magazine which simply expresses her resolve to redefine life after illness. Posting  it on her twitter handle, she wrote: “There’s no one way to tell how our experiences change us or shape us. Not all transformations are visible. What I’ve learnt is to never let it hold me back. I’d rather dress up and show up! The brave lady,  speaking to the magazine,  said: “So when my PET [Positron Emission Tomography] scan showed up cancer had spread all over my abdomen, like fairy lights scattered all over, and when the doctor in New York said that there was about 30 per cent chance of it all going away, we were shattered.”The 44-year-old actor revealed that  she and her family never lost hope. “But the thought of death didn’t come to me. I thought this was going to be a long struggle, but I never thought I’d die.”Sonali recently appeared on a TV show with her best friends Gayatri Oberoi and Sussanne Khan as well, where she spoke about how, early in her career, her hair was the talk of the town.
