Rawalpindi : Over 2,500 sanitary workers of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) who are yet to get salary for March have appealed to the local government to pay them their salaries so they can celebrate Easter falling likely on April 21 without any trouble.The sanitary workers of RWMC have warned local management to pay them their salaries in a couple of days otherwise they will stop lifting garbage from all areas.The Sanitation Workers Union Chairman Muhammad Changez Bhatti told ‘The News’ that all workers are waiting of their monthly pays to celebrate Easter.Government has already announced Easter holiday for Christians but has not paid them salary for March till April 10,” he added. He said that local government should pay them salaries so they could start shopping for their family members to celebrate Easter.It is worth mentioning here that most of the Christian employees are low-paid workers and their monthly salaries ranges between Rs15,000 and Rs20,000.
