Rangers apprehend wanted robber

The Rangers on Friday claimed to have arrested a suspect wanted by the law enforcement agencies in various cases of street crime and robberies.According to a Rangers spokesperson, the suspect was identified as Tariq and he was arrested during a raid conducted on a tip-off in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. The spokesperson said he was involved in various cases of street crime and robberies committed in several parts of the city.The suspect, during the initial course of interrogation, confessed that he and his companions, including Farooq, alias Diya, Jamshed and Shakeel, alias Chama, had been involved in more than 100 cases of street crime and robberies in the Nazimabad, Moti Mahel, Sacchal Goth and UBL Ground areas, the spokesperson said, adding that the suspect and his gang members were also involved in a robbery case near Disco Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on October 17, 2018.The suspect has been handed over to the police for legal proceedings while the search is under way to arrest the other members of his gang.
