Punjab CM authorises spokesman to monitor govt depts

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has authorised his spokesman Dr Shahbaz Gill for inspecting and monitoring performance of various government departments and reporting back to the CM.This was stated by Shahbaz Gill in his Twitter message on Sunday. His message said that the chief minister had directed him to inspect different provincial institutions, monitor (their) performance and present report (to the CM). Later, the Punjab government also issued a notification in this regard which said that Shahbaz Gill was authorised to inspect government departments and monitor their performance. Shahbaz Gill said the chief minister believed in keeping direct contact with masses to monitor their well-being. He said Sardar Usman Buzdar is the captain of Punjab and “I will fulfil the responsibilities assigned by the captain”.Shahbaz Gill’s tweet message came in the wake of rumours that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s aide Naeemul Haq was being given some role to oversee the affairs of Punjab government. Earlier, a couple of days back, CM Usman Buzdar had announced that different provincial departments would be subjected to special audit in near future. Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) Javed Jahangir called on the Punjab CM at his office and apprised him about the performance of his department.
