Islamabad : Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Wednesday presented the PAGE Hero 2019 award to literacy mobiliser of ARC Pakistan Naheed Bibi in recognition of her services for promotion of education in remote areas of the country.Addressing a national seminar on girls' education here, the minister said Naheed Bibi is a true example and a constant source of inspiration for other women who are working in most remote areas of Pakistan to promote better educational attainments.He said women were playing a proactive role by working shoulder to shoulder with men in every field of life, said a news release.Shafqat Mahmood highlighted the importance of girl's education in national development, saying that it was pre-requisite to the country's economic development.ARC Pakistan is one of the PAGE Alliance Member and running the country's biggest programme to enroll One Million Out-of-School Children (OOSC) in schools.
