It seems Florent Denecker & Victorien Mulliez, whose initials create their musical alias – FDVM – have won hearts across Pakistan, permanently. After playing a series of shows in February of this year, in Karachi (presented by Salt Arts), Islamabad (as part of Solis Festival) and Jamshoro, Sindh (as part of Lahooti Melo 2019), the music duo went back home but not before making fans and friends leaving behind positive memories. Since then, the FDVM has played shows in other territories and returned to Pakistan in April, 2019. As for their brand of music, it includes uplifting house music, creating happy vibes and melting other genres such as disco to their evolving sound. Landing in Karachi, they took a series of meetings before heading back to Solis Festival, which this time took place in Lahore on April 19, 2019 at The Oasis Golf and Aqua Resort. The festival, backed by Mountain Dew, also featured Turhan James and several other international artists. Turhan, the son of PR mogul, former model and industry insider Frieha Altaf, has a number of original songs and remixes to his credit. He opened the show with a Game of Thrones mix and is also known for performing at another international platform, Ottawa’s ELE festival where he played his most popular song to date, ‘LA’ featuring the vocalist Kelsey Hayes. Getting the slot to open such a massive event is great for the emerging artist who is currently pursuing a degree abroad and developing into a DJ for our times. As for FDVM, they danced, played music and won more hearts before going back home. Speaking to Instep post-game, Victorien confirmed that they have left Pakistan but hope to return in “November”. As for the experience of playing Solis Festival in Lahore, after the Islamabad edition, he noted, “Solis was fantastic.”“We had a good time in Karachi and some meetings,” said Victorien, adding, “We just played a show in Lahore and it was incredible!”After the Islamabad and Lahore edition, reports suggest that Solis Music & Arts Festival will hit Karachi, the city of lights, later this year.
