Clean cities

In other countries, garbage is being converted into electric energy. If our provincial governments install small units in each city to produce electricity from garbage the cities not only will be cleaned but to some extent energy will also be augmented.At the same time, in order to facilitate citizens not to litter, garbage containers should be placed in markets and other places which are frequented by the people. The environment agencies of the city municipal corporations must make sure that wild growth is properly treated and more trees and flower bushes are planted. Similarly, road maintenance authorities must ensure proper maintenance of roads and street lights. This is the responsibility of the civic bodies of all cities. The respective federal and provincial government authorities must ensure implementations of the PM’s policy in order to give a clean and green look to our cities.Lt-Col (r) Arshad Nasim QureshiIslamabad
