LAHORE: The two-day 6th Deans & Directors conference organised by the National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) under the theme “The Evolving Landscape of Business Education across the Globe” concluded here Tuesday.On the concluding day besides parallel workshops, plenary sessions were held in which the speakers talked about the use of technology in education by business schools and their civic responsibilities. Question -Answer sessions were also held in which the participants put pertinent questions to the speakers.Chairman NBEAC, Dr Farrukh Iqbal, was convener of the session “Disruptive Technologies and Pedagogical Innovations” while the speakers included Dr Daniel R LeClair, Dr Farrah Arif, Dr Naveed A Malik and Dr Christophe Terrasse. The speakers highlighted the growing role of technology in higher education and urged the business schools to embrace the same. They also talked about emerging competition among the business schools of the world because of increased role of technology.They discussed the need of reinventing teaching strategies and knowledge delivery to keep pace with the rapid changes across the globe. They were of the view that today top companies were no more looking for graduates with just degrees but the ones having analytical and decision-making skills. The second plenary session was on “Civic responsibilities of business schools and their graduates”. Earlier, a dinner was hosted for the conference participants at the Punjab University (PU) on Monday evening.
