Anwar Maqsood's next play titled 'Naya Pakistan' comes out on Independence Day

Pakistan’s veteran scriptwriter and satirist Anwar Maqsood has some good news for fans as he announced the imminent launch of his next play titled ‘Naya Pakistan.’During a presser at the Arts Council Karachi, the acclaimed playwright announced that he has begun writing for the new drama which is scheduled to roll out this year on August 14, 2019 and will be directed by Dawar Mahmood.It was further revealed by him that the play is being written upon the President of the Arts Council Ahmed Shah, adding that the funds that will be accumulated from the play will be invested in those actors who have remained away from the television spotlight for a while now. As per the television host, the play, that already been staged before under a different name,  will be revolving around the present situation of the country with central character essaying the role of a pushcart vendor selling the old Pakistan into Naya Pakistan and will also show the character of Pakistan’s national poet Allama Iqbal.
