Anwar Maqsood and Dawar Mehmood’s upcoming theatre production, Naach Na Jaanay is all set to open in Karachi on March 14. A prequel to the legendary playwright’s Aangan Terha, the play marks actor, writer and host Yasir Hussain’s return to stage after seven years. Yasir will reprise the role of Akbar from Aangan Terha.“Welcome to the Arts Council Karachi Naach Na Jaanay,” Yasir posted on Instagram. “Theatre play starting from 14th March – written by the man with a golden pen [Anwar Maqsood] and detected by Dawar Mehmood. Grab your tickets.”The play’s promotions have begun, with tickets made available for shows commencing from March 14 at the Karachi Arts Council. The first spell of promotions took place at the recently concluded Karachi Literature Festival where they put up a stall while Anwar Maqsood announced the play during his talk ‘Kuch Bhi’ on the final day of the festival.Yasir has earlier essayed key roles in Anwar Maqsood plays such as Pawney 14 August, Sawa 14 August and Aangan Terha in the past. Aside from Yasir, the cast of Naach Na Jaanay includes Shafqat Khan and choreographer Wahab Shah among many others.The play will run till March 31 at the Karachi Arts Council.
