Babar Sheikh, one of the original members of music group Chand Tara Orchestra, is more than a bass player. He is also a filmmaker with several brilliant music videos to his credit including Mauj’s ‘Paheliyan’ and ‘Khushfehmi’, Strings’s ‘Sohniye’ off their album Dhaani, among others. So, it comes as no surprise that Babar Sheikh has announced a feature film. Taking to his Instagram account, Babar shared an image and wrote: “With the first post for 2019 I’m most happy to announce the initiation for our ‘First Feature Film’! Written by critically acclaimed Pakistani screen writer Bee Gul, this beautifully crafted urban drama will see the light of day hopefully in the near future - a little snapshot of our power trio which will Insha Allah soon grow into a film family. Need prayers, blessings, positive thoughts and most of all support. Brace yourselves with regular updates for the project.”While the film project continues to gain momentum at its own pace, do check out CTO’s debut album, available online and watch Instep for an interview with the band.
